Install Pulse for Excel
Deploy Pulse for Excel through Microsoft 365 admin center, or sideload it for a pilot
Early access
Pulse for Excel is rolling out to organisations on request. The manifest URL becomes active once your organisation is enabled — contact support@pulseintelligence.com.
For administrators
The recommended way to roll out Pulse for Excel to your organisation is through Microsoft 365's Integrated apps flow, which deploys the add-in to assigned users automatically — nobody has to sideload anything themselves.
-
Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center and sign in with an administrator account
-
Go to Settings → Integrated apps
-
Click Upload custom app
-
Choose Provide link to manifest file and enter:
https://excel.pulseintelligence.com/manifest.xml -
Assign the users or groups who should get the add-in
-
Complete the wizard
It can take 24 to 72 hours for the add-in to appear in Excel for assigned users after deployment.
For individuals (pilot)
If you want to try the add-in before a full rollout, you can sideload it directly.
First, download the manifest file: go to
excel.pulseintelligence.com and click
Download manifest — it saves pulse-excel-manifest.xml. (Opening the
manifest URL itself just shows XML in the browser; if you ever need it that
way, right-click the link and choose Save Link As….)
Excel on the web
- Open Excel on the web and any workbook
- Go to Home → Add-ins → More settings
- Choose Upload my add-in and select the downloaded manifest file
Excel on Mac
- Move the downloaded manifest file into
~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Excel/Data/Documents/wef - Restart Excel — the add-in appears on the Home ribbon
Excel on Windows
Sideloading on Windows requires either an administrator to deploy through Integrated apps (see above) or a trusted add-in catalog configured by your IT team. Ask your Pulse admin or IT administrator to set this up for you.
